Meet our first Senior Intake, Shadow!! Shadow came to us from Georgia - her owner went to a nursing home and a neighbor fed her before posting a plea for someone to rescue her. Thanks to some help from some amazing folks, FLR was able to save her!

Shadow is approximately 13-years old and about 10 pounds (she needs to put on another pound or two). In her previous life, Shadow was an outdoor dog, and wasn’t given vaccines, proper vetting, or preventatives. As a result, she is heartworm positive and in need of some dental work. We at FLR are committed to ensuring that Shadow gets the care she needs so that she can live her best life!!

She's a sweet girl, enjoys being inside, and loves roaming around her foster's home.  In the pictures below, you'll see her in her foster home and in the car driving to VA.  She does well with cats, dogs, and kids.

Shadow will require meds for the rest of her life for her heart - she is currently on two meds that cost $20 total per month. She is currently taking a joint supplement, a multivitamin, and Fortiflora daily. She also uses pee pads, but also goes outside to use the restroom.

Shadow recently received her second round of heartworm treatments, and will be tested at the appropriate time to ensure she is officially heartworm free!
