Thank you for your interest in our small but fierce rescue!

My name is Rachel! I have been in the rescue world since 2017 having fostered dogs, cats, pregnant moms, reptiles, birds and exotics! I am a wife and mom of four who are also invested in our animals journeys.

Along with my awesome co-founders and board members we have been able to connect with some amazing people! I am so very thankful for the amazing rescue partnerships built over the last few years and couldn’t have made Fierce Love Rescue what it is without them. It is truly my passion to rescue these animals with all the FIERCE LOVE and dedication possible! I hope you will be a part of our story too.

I began my journey in rescue years ago by adopting four, female, ex-racing greyhounds. What a wonderful pack they were! Since then, I have happily shared space with several German Shepherd Dogs. Most of my GSDs are seniors - it's so rewarding to provide a nurturing and loving environment for animals that need care in their last years and months.

Early in my career, I earned a PhD in Computer Science from VA Tech and taught in multiple academic environments. I later shifted to industry where my work focused primarily on business process assessment and improvment, and have applied those principles to FLR's business practices.

Since retiring, I turned to arts and crafts. Currently, I enjoy working in stained glass, mosaics, eggshell mosaics, and jewelry. When possible, I donate the items I make to raise money for various charitable organizations, including FLR.

I feel blessed to have found a rescue to which I feel particularly well suited. The challenges inherent in blending animal rescue, social media, education, outreach, partnership, networking, and community service provide many exciting opportunities for our Board of Directors and those who support our organization.
